Hey guys, with one of us moving and the other hiding with all the anxieties everything going on in the world lately, you might (or might not) have noticed that we haven’t been around much over the past few months. Even though so much has changed we can barely keep up, one thing that has remained constant has been our love of books and the swoony boys who give us just a little bit of escape in all the madness. Maybe none more so than the often imitated, never duplicated Edward Cullen!
We’re just kidding about the never duplicated thing since that’s literally how we met, but still no one is like the original Edward. He was our first Podcast Episode, our first Swoony Boy File, and the subject of countless hours of swooning and character discussion. The fic version of Edward is still the standard to which we hold so many other boys, and we can’t deny how much we love him.
That’s why we were totally shooketh when we found out that Stephenie Meyer was releasing Midnight Sun after all. this. time. Were we being punked? We weren’t sure how we felt about it at first–would Edward be the same? Would we still love it? Would the magic of Forks, Washington still be there? Would anything canon matter since there’s a Scotchward and Ginsper out in the world? Yes. To all of it.
After pre-ordering our copies–yes despite the hideous cover–we’ve been patiently counting down the days until this baby is in our hands. To our chagrin, Littlest Edward hasn’t been quite as tolerant of the wait.
So here we are. Pub day is finally here! In order to help get you in the mood for pure Edward-ness, we thought we’d remind you of a few of our favorite quotes and pics we love.
“What if I’m not a superhero. What if I’m the bad guy?”
“You are my life now.”
“Don’t be self-conscious, if I could dream at all, it would be about you. And I’m not ashamed of it.”
“Do I dazzle you?”
“You are the most important thing to me now. The most important thing to me ever.”
“It makes me . . . anxious . . . to be away from you.”
“I may not be a human, but I am a man.”
And perhaps our favorite quote of all time: Well, maybe not our favorite. But we sure quote it a lot!
“I’m the world’s most dangerous predator. Everything about me invites you in: my voice, my face, even my smell. As if I need any of that. As if you could outrun me! As if you could fight me off!“
(All quotes from Twilight)
And though this isn’t book-canon, we can’t let you go without this:
So as you can tell, we’re so excited for the release of a book we’ve been waiting years and years and forever for. It can’t possibly live up to our expectations, but we’re so happy this day is here. Happy book birthday, Midnight Sun! May you bring even a smidgen of joy to new readers that you’ve brought to us.

P.S. We love you, Twisherry ❤️
Yes! I was so excited for this! I had to own it the day it was published, although with my blogging schedule I haven’t started it yet. I know it won’t be the same but I still can’t wait to read it.
All of the nostalgia really has us going. I have to admit I’m scared that it won’t be the same!!!
