You are invited to set sail on the maiden voyage of the SS Princess of the Pacific in this indulgent historical romance from Anna Godbersen, the New York Times bestselling author of the Luxe series.
Vida Hazzard can see her future: aboard the heralded “Millionaire’s Ship of the West,” she’ll charm the young scion Fitzhugh Farrar, resulting in a proposal of marriage.
But Vida didn’t plan on Fitz’s best friend, Sal, a rough-around-the-edges boy with a talent for getting under her skin. Nor did she anticipate a hurricane dashing their ship to pieces, along with her dreams.
Stranded on an island with both Fitz and Sal, Vida is torn between the life she’s always planned for, and a future she’s never dared to want. As they desperately plot a course for home, Vida will discover just which boy can capture her wild heart—and where her future truly lies.
3 Reasons You Should Read…
Beautiful Wild by Anna Godbersen
- Okay. Okay. Okay. Although we don’t read very many historicals, this book has so many tropes that we can’t get enough of:
- Cruise Ship Sailing! 🚢 (we’ll ignore the fact that there’s a crash because…)
- Deserted Island Romance! 🏝️ (Wilson, where are you?)
- Thinking You Like One Boy but Realizing You’re Actually Falling for His Best Friend! 😍 (Is this giving you a little The Start of Me and You Vibe? *nods*)
- Have you read the Luxe Series? If you have, you know Godbersen writes beautifully with great descriptions and characters you can’t help but appreciate. Beautiful Wild has all that, too.
- You know we’re all about a girl who kicks ass. Despite the fact that Vida is stranded with dashing Fitz and his servant, Sal, she has to pull up her proverbial britches and save herself. She’s fierce and all about navigating her own life. #girlpower
Bottom Line:
A mashup of Titanic, Castaway, and a smidge of the The Start of Me and You, Beautiful Wild takes us on a tumultuous journey at sea where the main character finds not only love but herself.
